Founded in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, Phi Mu is a women’s organization dedicated to providing personal and academic development, service to others, commitment to excellence, and lifelong friendship through a shared tradition. Embracing the values of love, honor, and truth, Phi Mu promotes vibrant living, encouraging members to achieve their personal best. 

The Kappa Upsilon chapter of Phi Mu was chartered at the University of North Georgia on February 3, 1973. Aligned with Phi Mu’s national philanthropic focus, the chapter supports Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, as well as local organizations such as Community Helping Place and TLC Humane Society.  Through active participation in campus events, community service, and leadership development, Kappa Upsilon members strive to make a positive impact within the UNG community and beyond
